Beef Tacos
Classic Mexican street-style tacos with seasoned ground beef, fresh salsa, and all your favorite toppings in warm corn tortillas. Simple, satisfying, and endlessly customizable.
Ingredients

- 12small corn_tortilla
- 1medium onion, half diced for cooking, half diced for topping
- 3cloves garlic, minced
- 1tbsp cumin
- 2tsp chili_powder
- 1tsp paprika
- 2medium tomato, diced
- 1bunch cilantro, chopped
- 2whole lime, cut into wedges
- 100g sour_cream, optional
- 100g cheddar, optional
- 2tbsp vegetable_oil
- 1tsp salt

Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add diced onion and cook until softened, about 4 minutes.

Add garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant. Add ground beef, breaking it up with a wooden spoon.

Cook beef until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat if needed.

Add cumin, chili powder, paprika, and salt. Stir well and cook for 2 minutes until spices are fragrant.

Add 1/4 cup water, stir to combine, and let simmer for 5 minutes until liquid is mostly absorbed.

Warm tortillas in a dry skillet or directly over a gas flame until pliable and slightly charred.

Assemble tacos with seasoned beef, diced onion, tomatoes, cilantro, and a squeeze of lime. Add cheese and sour cream if desired.
Tips
- For authentic street-style tacos, use two stacked corn tortillas per taco to prevent them from falling apart.
- Char your tortillas over an open flame for the best flavor and texture. They should have a few black spots.
- Make a quick salsa by mixing diced tomatoes, onion, cilantro, lime juice, and a pinch of salt.
